The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized an expansion of production under zone procedures at the BMW Manufacturing Co. LLC facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina. BMW already had authority to produce gasoline and diesel-powered motor vehicles, motor vehicle bodies, stamped body parts, and lithium ion batteries within FTZ 38A and the FTZ Board has now added hybrid passenger vehicles and foreign-status materials and components to the scope of authority. This approval is subject to a restriction that polyester band, acrylic coated cloth tape, warp knit fabric, and seat protectors be admitted in privileged foreign status.

The FTZ Board has also approved an expansion of production authority at the Janssen Ortho LLC facility in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. Janssen already had authority to produce certain pharmaceutical products within subzone 61N and the FTZ Board has added a finished product and a foreign status material or component to the scope of authority.
