FTZ Board Considers Requests for Production Authority, Zone Expansion

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from IRIS USA Inc. a notification of proposed production activity for its facility within FTZ 277 in Surprise, Ariz. IRIS has a pending production notification to produce plastic household storage and organizational containers and pet carriers and pens within site 12 of FTZ 277 and the current request would add a foreign-status component (steel wire dividers) to the scope of authority. Comments on this notification are due no later than Feb. 27.

The FTZ Board has received from the Port of South Louisiana, grantee of FTZ 124, a request for authority to expand the service area of this zone to include Plaquemines and Assumption parishes, adjacent to the Gramercy U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry. The service area of FTZ 124 currently includes the parishes of St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. James, Lafourche, St. Mary, and Tangipahoa. Comments on this request are due no later than March 20.
