FTZ Board Acts on New Zones and Subzones, Requests for Production Authority

Fabric Cover Stock. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from CGT U.S. Ltd. a notification of proposed production activity for its facility within FTZ 80 in New Braunfels, Texas, which is used for the production of PVC-coated upholstery fabric cover stock. Comments on this request are due no later than Dec. 14. A separate application for subzone designation at this facility has been submitted.

Flavor Compounds. The FTZ Board has authorized production under zone procedures at the Givaudan Flavors Corporation facility within FTZ 44 in East Hanover, N.J., which is used for the production of flavor compounds.

Washington State FTZ. The FTZ Board has approved the establishment of FTZ 296 with a service area of Clark County, Wash., within and adjacent to the Portland, Ore., U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry.

New Jersey Subzone Requested. The FTZ Board has received from the New Jersey Department of State, grantee of FTZ 44, a request for subzone status for the AGFA Corporation facility in Branchburg, N.J. Comments on this request are due no later than Dec. 14. A notification of proposed production activity has been submitted and will be published separately for public comment.

Louisiana Subzone Approved. The FTZ Board has authorized the establishment of subzone 87F at the Westlake Chemical Corporation facilities in Sulphur, La. This subzone will consist of several sites as well as several pipelines.
