FTZ Board Considers Iron Facility Request, Expands Kentucky Subzone

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the Port of Corpus Christi Authority, grantee of FTZ 122, a notification of proposed production activity at the voestalpine Texas LLC facility in Portland, Texas. voestalpine already has authority to produce hot briquetted iron and related byproducts using certain foreign-status materials within subzone 122T, and the current request would add a foreign-status material to the scope of authority. Comments on this notification are due no later than Oct. 23.

The FTZ Board has approved the expansion of subzone 29F at the Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas Inc. facility in Berea, Ky.
