FTZ Considers Production Request, Acts on New Subzones

Iron Facility. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from The Port of Corpus Christi Authority, grantee of FTZ 122, a notification of proposed production activity at the voestalpine Texas LLC facility in Portland, Texas. voestalpine already has authority to produce hot briquetted iron using foreign-sourced iron ore pellets within subzone 122T and the current request would add hot briquetted iron byproducts and foreign-status materials/components to the scope of authority. Comments on this request are due no later than Dec. 27.

Puerto Rico Subzone Requested. The FTZ Board has received from the Puerto Rico Trade & Export Company, grantee of FTZ 61, a request for subzone status at the Aceros de América Inc. facility in San Juan, Puerto Rico. No authorization for production activity at this facility has been requested at this time. Comments on this request are due no later than Dec. 27.

New Subzones Approved. The FTZ Board has approved (a) the establishment of subzone 262C at the ASICS America Corporation facility in Byhalia, Miss., and (b) the expansion of subzone 92B to include an additional site at the Huntington Ingalls Industries facility in Pascagoula, Miss.
