FTZ Board Considers/Approves Production Requests
Bearing Kits Facility. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from CoLinx LLC a notification of proposed production activity for its facilities in Crossville, Tennessee, within FTZ 148. CoLinx already has authority to produce kits of bearing products within Sites 2, 6, 8 and 9 of FTZ 148, and the current request would add foreign status materials/components to the scope of authority. Comments on this request are due by Jan. 4.
Nevada Facility. The FTZ Board has approved a new production activity at the Tesla Motors Inc. facility in Sparks, Nevada, which is used for the production of lithium-ion batteries, electric motors and stationary energy storage systems. The request was submitted July 20 by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, grantee of FTZ 126.
