FTZ Board Considers Requests from Auto Parts, Solar Panel Facilities

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from Calsonic Kansei North America a notification of proposed production activity for its facility within FTZ 158 in Canton, Miss., which will be used to produce a variety of automotive parts and subassemblies for use in the automotive industry. Comments are due no later than Dec. 12. The applicant will also be submitting a separate application for FTZ designation at this facility.

The FTZ Board has received from Panasonic Eco Solutions Solar New York America a notification of proposed production activity for its facility in Buffalo, N.Y. PESSNY already has authority to produce crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar panels/modules within subzone 23E and the current request would add a finished product (CSPV cells) to the scope of authority. Comments are due no later than Dec. 12.
