FMC Commissioners Nominated

President Trump has announced his intent to nominate the following two individuals as members of the Federal Maritime Commission.

Dan Maffei (to serve through June 30, 2022) currently serves as professor of practice at the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management. Previously he served two years as an FMC commissioner and two non-consecutive terms in Congress representing parts of upstate New York. Earlier in his career he served in senior staff positions for Sens. Bill Bradley and Daniel Patrick Moynihan and in the House Ways and Means Committee.

L. E. Sola of Florida (to serve through June 30, 2023), a licensed international ship broker, currently serves on the Florida Board of Pilots Commissioners and presides on its probable cause panel for maritime incidents. Earlier in his career he was a senior sales executive with Campers & Nicholson International and a consultant authoring studies for the Inter-American Development Bank during the U.S. handover of the Panama Canal.
