CBP Seeing Delays in Processing Commercial User Fee Payments
U.S. Customs and Border Protection states that the ongoing federal government shutdown is delaying the National Finance Center’s ability to process annual user fee payments for commercial vehicles. As a result, some commercial conveyances are being flagged as not having paid the fee when in fact they have.
CBP states that to help alleviate this situation commercial operators should print a receipt confirming payment when renewing or purchasing a transponder online. This receipt can then be used as proof of payment when crossing at ports of entry.
