Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is inviting public comments no later than June 16 on the proposed extension without change of the commercial invoice, which is presented to CBP by the importer for each shipment of goods at the time entry summary is filed. The information on the invoice is used to ascertain the proper tariff classification and valuation of imported goods, which in turn are used to determine duties. To facilitate trade, CBP has not developed a specific form and allows importers to use their existing invoices.
