Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is accepting comments through June 26 on the proposed extension without change of the following information collections.

- CBP form 3229, Certificate of Origin: This form is used by shippers and importers to declare that goods being imported are produced or manufactured in a U.S. insular possession from materials grown, produced, or manufactured in such possession and are therefore entitled to duty-free entry. This form includes a list of the foreign materials included in the goods and their description and value.

- Free Trade Agreements: FTAs involve the collection of data elements such as information about the importer and exporter of the goods, a description of the goods, tariff classification number, and the preference criterion in the rules of origin.
