Former USTR Attorney Nominated to Serve as ITC Commissioner

President Trump has announced his intent to nominate Amy Karpel as a member of the International Trade Commission for the remainder of a nine-year term expiring June 16, 2020. Karpel worked for more than a decade in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, most recently as chief counsel for negotiations, legislation, and administrative law, where she provided legal advice on the application of U.S. trade law and the negotiation and implementation of U.S. trade agreements. Earlier in her career she was an associate attorney in private practice representing U.S. workers and producers in trade remedy proceedings.
