CBP Audit Surveys: What’s at Stake
Webinar: 1 CCS Credit
The live webinar date has passed, but this webinar is available On Demand.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Regulatory Audit appears to be focusing on importer audit surveys to more effectively utilize its resources. This concept, which has been around for years, was initially concentrated on intellectual property rights enforcement but has more recently been extended to other review areas considered to be at risk. While an audit survey may sound like a great opportunity for importers to avoid a more intensive review, it could in fact result in a full-blown audit or other enforcement action if the importer does not take it seriously. This webinar is designed to prepare companies to undergo an audit survey or other CBP audit by reviewing how to implement and maintain an effective import compliance program.
This CBP Audit Survey Webinar Will Cover:
- Regulatory Audit’s mission, structure, and legal authority to audit
- Regulatory Audit’s types of engagements and process for identifying and selecting audit candidates
- how audit surveys differ from audits, their purpose, how they are conducted, and issues to be aware of
- import program red flags
- consideration of prior disclosures in audit surveys
