Responding to a growing demand for export controls-related services, international trade and customs law firm Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., announced today the addition of Jenna Glass as an advisor in the firm’s Export Controls and Sanctions Practice.
“Today’s global export environment is perhaps more challenging than ever,” said practice leader Steven Brotherton. “Companies need to know if the Chinese entities they’re doing business with are sanctioned because of their involvement in North Korea, or whether that business they’re acquiring has export control deficiencies, or how to ensure they’re in compliance with the deemed export rules that apply to foreign nationals. Bringing on a savvy and experienced advisor like Jenna will be a valuable asset as ST&R continues to help companies deal with these and other situations.”
Ms. Glass will be based in ST&R’s San Francisco office, handling Export Administration Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions matters. She brings to ST&R more than a decade of experience in international trade compliance and supply chain operations.
Most recently she served as a global trade compliance manager for a leading U.S. technology company, where her responsibilities included overseeing compliance operations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions as well as developing and promulgating export control policies and procedures. She has developed and implemented compliance and training programs, conducted global risk assessments, and created comprehensive audit programs. Her experience also includes commodity classification and commodity jurisdiction determinations, export and deemed export licensing, and investigations and enforcement.
Ms. Glass is an active member of CompTIA (formerly TechAmerica) and co-chairs its Best Practices Subcommittee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Colorado State University and will obtain a law degree from Santa Clara University in 2018.
