FDA to Hold Public Workshop on Food Labeling Aug. 4-5
The Food and Drug Administration will hold a public workshop on food labeling Aug. 4-5 in Fayetteville, Ark. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register online by July 21.
This workshop is intended to provide information about FDA food labeling regulations and other related subjects to the regulated industry, particularly small businesses and startups. Information presented will be based on agency positions as articulated through regulation, compliance policy guides and information previously made available to the public. Topics to be discussed include mandatory label elements, nutrition labeling requirements, the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004, voluntary health and nutrient content claims, and special labeling issues such as exemptions and current topics on food labeling and nutrition.
