Export Privileges for California Man Suspended. The Bureau of Industry and Security has suspended for one year all export privileges for Mohamad M. Elkateb of Canyon Country, Calif. This action settles charges that in 2004 Elkateb conspired to export U.S.-origin lab equipment, purchased from a foreign distributor of the U.S. manufacturer, to Syria via Indonesia without the required U.S. government authorization.
