Baldwin Selected to Lead Development of Automated Commercial Environment
According to a June 22 press release by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Assistant CBP Commissioner Daniel Baldwin has been named as the executive business owner of the Automated Commercial Environment, which is a program designed to modernize CBP’s international trade business processes and improve border security. In that capacity, Baldwin will be responsible for establishing a clear and transparent vision for the deployment of an environment that meets the needs of CBP and the trade community. He will work with the ACE Executive Steering Committee to coordinate and recommend ACE business decisions, including requirements, prioritization, implementation and communications. The press release notes that Baldwin has been selected for this position “due to his impressive tenure with the agency and his familiarity with the program, including the release for filing of entry summaries nationwide in ACE.”
