Automated Export System (AES) Compliance & AES Trade Data Analysis

For controlled commodities subject to licensing requirements or less sensitive or commercial items that do not require licensing, compliance with the Automated Export System (AES) filing requirements is critical for ongoing compliance and avoiding the imposition of penalties.

ST&R attorneys and STTAS professionals have extensive experience assisting shippers, forwarders and AES filing agents in meeting their AES filing obligations. We work with companies to determine when AES filings are required and whether exemptions or exclusions under the Foreign Trade Regulations apply and assist our clients with preparing and submitting AES filings. In addition, we offer AES reviews of previous Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings, and assist companies in taking any necessary corrective action.

STTAS has developed the AES e|Business Executive Profiles for companies who utilize their AES data in their compliance programs. This profile analyzes companies’ export data in order to identify new cost‐saving strategies, increase compliance levels, explore alternative sourcing strategies, gauge service provider performance, monitor transactions and regularly assess export compliance risks.
