TIFFANY CHONG is a Senior Director for Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Limited, resident in the Firm’s Hong Kong office.

Ms. Chong provides strategic advice to a wide range of clients on international trade and customs law matters in Hong Kong and China, including valuation, preference programs, export controls, and sanctions. She manages first sale programs for a number of large companies and advises others on establishing the multi-tiered transactions necessary to obtain duty savings under first sale. She has also helped companies determine optimal factory locations and compliance strategies to take advantage of free trade agreements and other duty preference programs.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Chong was a key account manager at a local consultancy firm. She has advised clients on China market entry analysis and pre-entry consultancy, cross-border transaction structuring, China Customs clearance and recordkeeping compliance, transformation of processing trade operations, expatriate working permit applications and tax planning, annual audit and tax clearance, and employment contracts, staff handbook reviews and salary restructuring.

Due to her extensive experience in advising clients entering the Chinese market, Ms. Chong was invited to become one of the columnists of Metro Daily’s “Doing Business in China” column. Her articles cover topics on customs compliance, tax planning and processing trades in China. She has also addressed the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and other trade associations in China and Taiwan on U.S.-China trade relations and strategies to mitigate the impact of tariffs.

Ms. Chong received her Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Renmin University of China in 2012. She also holds a B.A., in business administration from Hong Kong Baptist University. She is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
