NICOLE A. KEHOSKIE is an Associate with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Chicago office. Her practice is focused on import and export trade law. With regard to imports, Ms. Kehoskie has extensive experience with statutory and regulatory compliance, including internal audits, supply chain security, corporate manuals and training, Customs Focused Assessments, ICE Investigations, Prior Disclosures, penalty mitigation, protests, and seizures by Customs. She also assists clients to determine whether goods qualify under free trade agreements, other preference programs, and trade remedies. Ms. Kehoskie assists clients with compliance issues related to other regulatory agencies, including the APHIS, CPSIA, DOL, FCC, FCPA, FDA, FTC, and USDA.
As for export law, Ms. Kehoskie has broad knowledge of the U.S. export control laws. She has represented clients before the Bureau of Industry & Security, the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, the Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Bureau of the Census for such issues as commodity jurisdictions, export licenses, and seizures. Ms. Kehoskie has also conducted self-assessments of companies' existing export compliance programs and policies and developed comprehensive, individual export programs.
With regard to Ms. Kehoskie’s U.S. Government Procurement practice, Ms. Kehoskie assists clients in qualifying for government procurement contracts, including determining product eligibility according to the Buy American Act, Trade Agreements Act, and Buy America regulations. Ms. Kehoskie also determines the applicability of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the various Free Trade Agreements, the WTO’s Government Procurement Agreement, and specific agency rules as part of implementing government procurement compliance.
Ms. Kehoskie has represented clients before the Circuit Court of Cook County and the Court of International Trade for matters relating to transportation litigation, collections, and regulatory compliance disputes.
Prior to her practice in international trade law, Ms. Kehoskie’s professional experience included positions as an international business and economic analyst for a major accounting firm, focusing on transfer pricing issues, and as a business strategy consultant for an international consulting firm.
Ms. Kehoskie holds a J.D. from the Michigan State University College of Law and a B.A. in international political economics from DePaul University. She is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Court of International Trade, and she is a member of the bar in Illinois. She is a legal and professional Spanish-English translator and is certified bilingual by the ACT/FL. She also has a basic proficiency in Portuguese and Italian.
