Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Fish and Wildlife Service has announced that as of Aug. 1 its Office of Law Enforcement will no longer send written notices to holders of wildlife import/export licenses and designated port exception permits concerning the expiration of those licenses/permits and the need to request renewal. As a result, individuals and businesses that hold wildlife import/export licenses and DPE permits will be responsible for monitoring expiration dates and obtaining renewals without FWS notification, although the agency is exploring options for electronic reminders for users of its eDecs system. The FWS notes that its wildlife inspectors will not clear shipments presented for import or export under expired licenses or DPE permits.
