Tuna Tariff-Rate Quota for 2013 Announced

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced the calendar year 2013 tariff-rate quota quantity for tuna fish in airtight containers classifiable under HTSUS 1604.14.22. This annual TRQ is based on the apparent U.S. consumption of such tuna during the preceding year. CBP has determined that 16,006,350 kilograms of tuna (down from 17,270,370 in 2012) may be entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption during the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2013, at the 6% duty rate under HTSUS 1604.14.22. Excess amounts will be dutiable at a rate of 12.5% under HTSUS 1604.14.30.
