Tuna Tariff-Rate Quota for 2015 Announced

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced the calendar year 2015 tariff-rate quota quantity for tuna fish in airtight containers classifiable under HTSUS 1604.14.22. This annual TRQ is based on the apparent U.S. consumption of such tuna during the preceding year. CBP has determined that 15,954,733 kilograms of tuna (up from 15,833,343 in 2014) may be entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption during the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2015, at the six percent duty rate under HTSUS 1604.14.22. Excess amounts will be dutiable at a rate of 12.5 percent under HTSUS 1604.14.30.
