Tuna Tariff-Rate Quota for 2014 Announced

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced the calendar year 2014 tariff-rate quota quantity for tuna fish in airtight containers classifiable under HTSUS 1604.14.22. This annual TRQ is based on the apparent U.S. consumption of such tuna during the preceding year. CBP has determined that 15,833,343 kilograms of tuna (down from 16,006,350 in 2013) may be entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption during the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2014, at the 6% duty rate under HTSUS 1604.14.22. Excess amounts will be dutiable at a rate of 12.5% under HTSUS 1604.14.30.
