Export Committees on Transportation, Materials and Emerging Technology to Meet

The Bureau of Industry and Security has announced partially open meetings of the following technical advisory committees in Washington, D.C. There will be a limited number of seats available at each open session, which will also be accessible via teleconference to 20-25 participants on a first come, first served basis. Requests to join each of these teleconferences can be submitted here.

- The Transportation and Related Equipment TAC, which advises BIS with respect to technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to transportation and related equipment or technology, will meet March 2. The open session will include status reports by working group chairs. Requests to join the teleconference are due by Feb. 24.

- The Materials TAC, which advises BIS on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials and related technology, will meet March 3. The open session will include reports from the composite, biological, pump and valves, and chemical working groups as well as a report from regime representatives. Requests to join the teleconference are due by Feb. 25.

- The Materials Processing Equipment TAC, which advises BIS on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials processing equipment and related technology, will meet March 8. The open session will include a discussion on the results and proposals from the last Wassenaar meeting and a report on proposed and recently issued changes to the Export Administration Regulations. Requests to join the teleconference are due by March 1.

- The Emerging Technology and Research Advisory Committee, which advises BIS on emerging technology and research activities, including those related to deemed exports, will meet March 10. The open session will include discussions on atom-based sensing, nanotechnology and electromagnetic threats to U.S. critical infrastructure. Requests to join the teleconference are due by March 3.
