State Dept. Shipping Meeting to Cover Trade Security and Facilitation

The State Department’s Shipping Coordinating Committee will conduct an open meeting Sept. 9 in Arlington, Va., to prepare for the 39th session of the International Maritime Organization's Facilitation Committee, which will be held Sept. 22-26. The agenda items to be considered at this meeting include e-business possibilities for the facilitation of maritime traffic, ensuring security in and facilitating international trade, ship/port interface, and technical cooperation activities related to the facilitation of maritime traffic. Those planning to attend this meeting in person or via teleconference should notify the meeting coordinator no later than Sept. 2.
