IPR Enforcement: Toner Cartridges, Consumer Electronics, Denim Garments

Import Restrictions on Toner Cartridges. In investigation 337-TA-918, the International Trade Commission has determined to issue (1) a general exclusion order prohibiting the entry of toner cartridges and components thereof that infringe certain patents asserted by Canon Inc., Canon U.S.A. Inc. and Canon Virginia Inc. and (2) cease and desist orders against eight domestic defaulting respondents. Additionally, the ITC has determined that a bond in the amount of 100 percent of the entered value is required to permit temporary importation of the articles in question during the 60-day period of presidential review.

Consumer Electronics. The ITC has narrowed the scope of patent infringement investigation 337-TA-932 of consumer electronics and display devices with graphics processing and graphics processing units therein after complainant NVIDIA Corporation withdrew its complaint with respect to certain patent claims.

Denim Garments. In patent infringement investigation 337-TA-930 of laser-abraded denim garments, the ITC has found a respondent located in Italy in default for failure to respond to the amended complaint and notice of investigation.
