Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received a petition requesting the initiation of a rulemaking to require that manufacturers of floor coverings, floor coverings with coatings, and treated floor coverings label their products to provide point-of-sale information regarding those products’ slip resistance in accordance with the applicable American National Standards Institute standard. The required label would provide a graphic of a traction scale and indicate the coefficient of friction value for the product. Written comments concerning this petition are due by Feb. 1, 2016.
