Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a direct final rule updating its existing safety standards on infant walkers and infant swings to incorporate by reference most recent versions of the applicable ASTM standards. The CPSC notes that the revised ASTM standards are nearly the same as the CPSC-mandated standards for these products, which are more stringent than the previous ASTM standards. This rule will be effective as of Oct. 7 unless the CPSC receives significant adverse comment by July 24, in which case the rule will be withdrawn.
