Foreign Regulatory Changes Could Affect Exports of Water Heaters, Auto Parts, Foods

According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the World Trade Organization has been notified of regulatory changes that may affect exports of specific products to the following countries. For information on how these restrictions may affect your business, contact ST&R.

Australia – greenhouse and energy minimum standards for water heaters (comments due by Aug. 11)

Brazil – May 29 publication of conformity assessment procedures for certain auto parts

Canada – May 21 effective date of amended order on hazardous chemicals and pesticides

Canada – proposed requirement that a halal claim on a food label, package or advertising material include the name of the person or body certifying that claim (comments due by Aug. 15)
