USDA Reviewing Info Collection on Importation of Ovine Meat from Uruguay

The Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is soliciting comments through Feb. 18 on the proposed extension of an information collection associated with the regulations allowing the importation of ovine meat from Uruguay under certain conditions to prevent the introduction of foot-and-mouth disease. Among other things, APHIS must collect, for each shipment, certification from an authorized veterinary official of the government of Uruguay that the specified conditions have been met.
