USDA Sets 2014 Rates for Meat, Poultry and Egg Inspection, Certification and Lab Services

The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced the 2014 rates it will charge meat and poultry establishments, egg products plants, and importers and exporters for providing voluntary, overtime and holiday inspection and identification, certification and laboratory services. The 2014 rates will be applied beginning Feb. 9 and are as follows (per hour/per employee): basetime, $ 55.16; overtime, $69.56; holiday, $84.00; and laboratory, $68.79.
