Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

Effective Nov. 23, the Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is adding Croatia to the list of regions that are considered free of foot-and-mouth disease, swine vesicular disease and rinderpest and is low risk for classical swine fever. APHIS is taking this step because it has determined that the surveillance, prevention and control measures implemented by and Croatia are sufficient to minimize the likelihood of introducing these diseases into the United States via imports of species or products susceptible to these diseases. As a result, APHIS will relax current restrictions on imports of certain animals and animal products from Croatia.
