Export Committees on Materials, Materials Processing Equipment to Meet

Materials Processing Equipment. The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Materials Processing Equipment Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting Aug. 9 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials processing equipment and related technology. The agenda for the open session of the upcoming meeting includes a discussion on the results and proposals from the last Wassenaar Arrangement meeting and a report on proposed and recently issued changes to the Export Administration Regulations.

The open session will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis and requests to join this conference are due by Aug. 2. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at the public session, but reservations are not accepted.

Materials. The BIS Materials Technical Advisory Committee will meet Aug. 10 via teleconference. This committee advises BIS on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials and related technology. The open session of the upcoming meeting will include a report on regime-based activities and reports from the composite, biological, and pump and valves working groups.

The open session of the teleconference will be available to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis and requests to join the conference are due by Aug. 3.
