Export Committees on Materials, Materials Processing Equipment to Meet

The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Materials Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting May 8 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS with respect to technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials and related technology. The open session of the upcoming meeting will include a report on a new working group for discussion of public domain issues as it relates to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations; a discussion on recycling carbon fiber, prepreg, cured parts and out of life parts from the Composite Working Group; and a report from the Biological and Pump/Valves Working Group.

The BIS’ Materials Processing Equipment Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting May 13 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS with respect to technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials processing equipment and related technology. The open session of the upcoming meeting will include a discussion on proposals for the next Wassenaar Arrangement meeting and a report on proposed and recently issued changes to the EAR.
