Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is accepting through Dec. 29 public comments on the proposed extension without change of CBP form 3485, the lien notice. The data collected on this form is used by CBP to ensure that liens for freight have been satisfied or discharged before delivery of the freight from public stores or bonded warehouses and to ensure that proceeds from public auction sales are distributed to the lienholder. This form is usually prepared and submitted by carriers, cartmen and similar persons or firms.
