Attorney Nominated as Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator
President Obama announced Aug. 28 his intention to nominate intellectual property attorney Danny Marti as intellectual property enforcement coordinator. This position has been vacant for more than a year after the departure of Victoria Espinel.
Marti currently serves as the managing partner of the Washington, D.C., office of a law firm and co-chaired the firm’s intellectual asset acquisitions and transactions team from 2010 to 2013. A press release from the firm indicates that Marti’s work has covered trademarks, false advertising, unfair competition, copyrights, trade secrets, cybersquatting, and computer fraud and abuse. He has served on several professional associations, including the International Trademark Association.
