Extended Comment Period for Info Collections on Imports of Firearms and Defense Articles

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is extending to April 13 the period for comments on the following information collections.

ATF Form 6, Part II (5330.3B), Application and Permit for Importation of Firearms, Ammunition and Defense Articles – This form is used to determine if the articles described on an application qualify for importation and serves as authorization for the importer. Information may be disclosed to other federal, state, foreign and local law enforcement and regulatory agency personnel to verify information on the application and to aid in the enforcement and regulation of firearms and/or ammunition where such disclosure is not prohibited by law.

ATF Form 4587 (5330.4), Application to Register as an Importer of U.S. Munitions Import List Articles – Persons who wish to import firearms, ammunition and implements of war must apply with this form, which also facilitates the collection of registration fees.
