The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is hosting Sept. 16 a public webcast on import and export regulations for infectious biological agents, infectious substances and vectors as well as import and export exemptions. This webcast is an opportunity for the regulated community (i.e., academic institutions and biomedical centers, commercial manufacturing facilities, federal, state and local laboratories, research facilities, exhibition facilities and educational facilities) and other interested individuals to obtain specific regulatory guidance and information regarding import and export regulations. It will also provide assistance to those interested in applying for an import or export permit (or license) from federal agencies. Representatives from the departments of Commerce and Transportation, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Food and Drug Administration and others will be in attendance. Registration to participate in this webcast must be completed by Sept. 2 and instructions can be found here.
