Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is accepting through Mar. 11 comments on form ATF F 6, Part II (5330.3B), Application and Permit for Importation of Firearms, Ammunition and Defense Articles. This form is used to determine if the articles described on an application qualify for importation and serves as authorization for the importer. Information may be disclosed to other federal, state, foreign and local law enforcement and regulatory agency personnel to verify information on the application and to aid in the enforcement and regulation of firearms and/or ammunition where such disclosure is not prohibited by law.

The ATF is also accepting through Mar. 11 comments on ATF form 4587 (5330.4), Application to Register as an Importer of U.S. Munitions Import List Articles. Persons who wish to import firearms, ammunition and the implements of war must apply with this form, which also facilitates the collection of registration fees.

The Drug Enforcement Administration is extending the comment deadline to Feb. 10 on the proposed extension without change of DEA Form 488, Application for Import Quota for Ephedrine, Pseudoephedrine and Phenylpropanolamine. Persons who desire to import these List I chemicals during the next calendar year must apply for an import quota on this form. Respondents complete a separate form for each List I chemical for which quota is sought.
