New York FTZ Seeks to Reorganize, Two Others Seek to Expand Production

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received an application from Suffolk County, N.Y., grantee of FTZ 52, requesting authority to reorganize this zone under the alternative site framework. The proposed service area would include portions of Suffolk County, adjacent to the JFK Airport U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry. Comments on this application are due no later than July 15.

The FTZ Board has received from LLFlex LLC, operator of subzone 29J, a notification of proposed production activity under zone procedures at its facility in Louisville, Ky. This subzone currently has authority to produce aluminum foil liner stock, and the request would add foil backed paperboard to the list of approved finished products. Comments on this notification are due no later than June 24.

The FTZ Board has received from Whirlpool Corporation, operator of subzone 8I, a notification of proposed production activity under zone procedures for its facilities in Clyde and Green Springs, Ohio. This subzone currently has authority to produce standard and high-capacity washing machines using certain imported components. The current request would add subassemblies and other unfinished washing machine parts to the list of approved finished products and would also add imported components to the scope of authority. Comments on this notification are due no later than June 24.
