Forwarder Hit With $27,000 Penalty for Violating BIS Denial Order

A California freight forwarder will pay a $27,000 civil penalty under an agreement with the Bureau of Industry and Security to settle charges that it violated a BIS denial order by facilitating the acquisition of about 2,300 computer motherboards by a denied person in the United Arab Emirates. If the company fails to pay this penalty its export privileges may be suspended for one year.
