President Nominates New Head of U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service

President Obama announced Oct. 4 his intent to nominate Arun M. Kumar as director general of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service within the Department of Commerce. Kumar recently retired from KPMG as a partner and member of the board of directors, and during his 18 years there he also led the firm’s West Coast Finance Management Consulting and U.S.-India practices. Earlier in his career he served as CEO and CFO of a number of information technology firms. Kumar holds an M.S. in management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
