Export Regulations, Materials Export Committees to Meet

Export Regulations. The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Regulations and Procedures Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting Sept. 16 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS on implementation of the Export Administration Regulations and provides for continuing review to update the EAR as needed.

The agenda for the public session of the meeting will include updates on export enforcement, regulations and the Automated Export System as well as working group reports. This session will be accessible via teleconference to 25 participants on a first come, first served basis, and requests to join this conference are due no later than Sept. 9. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at the public session, but reservations are not accepted.

Materials. The BIS Materials Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting Sept. 11 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS with respect to technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials and related technology.

The open session of the meeting will include remarks from senior BIS management, presentations on recycling composites and Department of Homeland Security outreach to industry, reports from working groups on public domain, composites, biologicals and pumps/valves, and a report on regime-based activities. This session will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis, and requests to join this conference are due by Sept. 4. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at the public session, but reservations are not accepted.
