Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued a final rule making corrections and clarifications to the Export Administration Regulations for six final rules published in 2013 and early 2014. These rules include an editorial clean-up of references to the Foreign Trade Regulations, revisions to the Unverified List, revisions to make the Commerce Control List clearer, initial implementation of export control reform, and revisions to export controls on certain military items. This rule also makes other needed technical corrections and clarifications to the EAR as well as two conforming changes as a result of a final rule published by the State Department on April 17. This rule is effective June 5 except that some amendatory instructions will be effective July 1.
