Export Committees on Regulations, Materials Processing Equipment, Transportation Equipment to Meet

The Bureau of Industry and Security has announced partially open meetings of the following advisory committees at Commerce Department headquarters in Washington, D.C. The open session of each meeting will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis and will also have a limited number of seats for those wishing to attend in person.

- The Regulations and Procedures Technical Advisory Committee, which advises BIS on implementation of the Export Administration Regulations and provides for continuing review to update the EAR as needed, will meet March 4. The open session of this meeting will include updates on export enforcement, regulations and the Automated Export System as well as reports from working groups.

- The Transportation and Related Equipment Technical Advisory Committee, which advises BIS on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to transportation and related equipment or technology, will meet March 5. The open session of this meeting will include status reports by working group chairs.

- The Materials Processing Equipment Technical Advisory Committee, which advises BIS on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials processing equipment and related technology, will meet March 11. The open session of this meeting will include a discussion of the results from the last, and proposals for the next, Wassenaar Arrangement meeting and a report on proposed and recently issued changes to the EAR.
