Export Committees on Emerging Technology, Materials Processing Equipment, Sensors to Meet

Emerging Technology and Research. The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Emerging Technology and Research Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting Oct. 23-24 in La Jolla, CA. This committee advises BIS on emerging technology and research activities, including those related to deemed exports. The agenda for the open session of the upcoming meeting includes developments in export control reform, technology and deemed exports; a status report on the ECCN review; a review of upcoming emerging technologies; and issues for review such as exports to dual third country nationals, deemed reexports guidance, strategic trade authorizations and deemed exports, and enhancement of the consolidated screening lists

Materials Processing Equipment. The BIS Materials Processing Equipment Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting Oct. 29 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS with respect to technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials processing equipment and related technology. The agenda for the open session of the upcoming meeting includes a discussion on the results and proposals from the last Wassenaar meeting and a report on proposed and recently issued changes to the Export Administration Regulations.

Sensors and Instrumentation. The BIS Sensors and Instrumentation Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting Oct. 28 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to sensors and instrumentation equipment and technology. The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes remarks from BIS management and industry presentations.
