Export Committees on Information Systems, Materials, Transportation to Meet

The Bureau of Industry and Security has recently announced the following partially open export control advisory committee meetings that will be held at the Department of Commerce headquarters building in Washington, D.C. The open sessions of these meetings will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants each on a first come, first served basis, and requests to participate in this manner should be submitted here. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available for at the public sessions but reservations are not accepted.

- The Information Systems Technical Advisory Committee will meet May 7-8. The open session will include working group reports as well as industry presentations on oscilloscope architectures and 5E1c1 technology.

- The Materials Processing Equipment Technical Advisory Committee will meet May 14. The open session will include a discussion on the results from the last, and proposals for the next, Wassenaar Arrangement meetings as well as a report on proposed and recently issued changes to the Export Administration Regulations.

- The Materials Technical Advisory Committee will meet May 9. The open session will include remarks from BIS senior management, a discussion on the General Technology Note as it applies to new Commerce Control List entries, reports from the Composite Working Group and other working groups, and a report on regime-based activities.

- The Transportation and Related Equipment Technical Advisory Committee will meet May 8. The open session will include status reports by working group chairs as well as public comments and proposals.
