Export Administration, Regulation Panels to Meet

PECSEA. The President's Export Council Subcommittee on Export Administration will hold a partially open meeting June 9 in Washington, D.C. The PECSEA provides advice on matters pertinent to those portions of the Export Administration Act that deal with U.S. policies of encouraging trade with all countries with which the U.S. has diplomatic or trading relations and of controlling trade for national security and foreign policy reasons.

The open session of the upcoming meeting will include an update and statistics on export control reform, presentations from the Data Transmission and Security and Process Improvements and Trusted Trader subcommittees, and an update from the Outreach Subcommittee. This session will be accessible via teleconference to 25 participants on a first come, first served basis. Those interested in joining this conference must notify the Bureau of Industry and Security no later than June 2. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at the public session, but reservations are not accepted.

RPTAC. The Regulations and Procedures Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting June 9 in Washington, D.C. The RPTAC advises BIS on implementation of the Export Administration Regulations and provides for continuing review to update the EAR as needed.

The open session of the upcoming meeting will include updates on export enforcement, regulations and the Automated Export System as well as working group reports. This session will be accessible via teleconference to 25 participants on a first come, first serve basis, and requests to join this conference must be submitted to BIS no later than June 2. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at the public session, but reservations are not accepted.
