EnergyGuide Labels for Televisions to be Revised

Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Federal Trade Commission has issued a final rule publishing new ranges of comparability for required EnergyGuide labels on televisions. Manufacturers have until July 15 to begin using these ranges on their labels.

The Energy Labeling Rule requires manufacturers of covered products, including TVs, to disclose specific energy consumption or efficiency information at the point of sale. In addition, each label must include range of comparability indicating the highest and lowest energy consumption or efficiencies for comparable models. The FTC updates these ranges periodically, as it is doing here.
